Keyless Lock: A Breakthrough in Home Security
December 25, 2008
Keyless lock, these are technologies made popular by James Bond and other high tech detective movies. Keyless lock or commonly referred to as biometric locks use fingerprint identification as the primary locking mechanism. Are they really more secure than the traditional keys and locks? If you are a home owner would you feel more confident leaving your house unattended if you have a lock that can only be opened with your fingerprints? Or you would be more worried because someone might chop off your fingers to gain entry to your home.
Speaking on my experience, using keyless lock or biometric locks is much more efficient than using the traditional padlocks and keys. For one thing, keys can be duplicated whereas keys can be duplicated easily. There are many shops that offer key duplication just for a few dollars. Keys can be easily lost and misplaced but you obviously don’t misplace your fingers, do you? Much more you don’t loss them unless you chop it off from your hands. Keyless lock would also benefit a lot those who have children and adults who already had memory gaps, instead of giving them a house key they would just use their fingertips to gain entry to your home. And lastly, keys can be easily stolen but I haven’t heard a stolen fingerprints, yet (except in the movies, of course).
Another good thing about keyless locks is that they can be programmed to allow and disallow access during specific time. This technology is becoming popular to homeowners and homebuyers. This latest breakthrough in security is dependable and affordable.
