In Loving Memory of Eric

He is battered, but well loved!

We have spent so much time together, we shared a lot of things.  Good, bad and everything in between.  I can’t exactly remember kung kalian kami nagsimulang nagsama.  That was, I guess, three or four years ago nang makita ko siya habang gumagala ako sa mall.  From that moment I felt a strong desire to have him.  Then, bago humaba ang dati nang mahabang istorya, I have him and that was the start of a loving yet platonic relationship between me and Eric.  It’s Eric who knows the real me, he knew me better than my own mother do and sometimes I even think that he knew me better than myself.  He knows everything about me, my dreams, my ambition, my desires, my nightmares and fears as in he know lahat ng kagagahan at katangahan na ginawa ko sa buhay ko.  For all those years na nagkasama kami, he become my emotional dumpsite, taga-salo ng lahat ng sama ng loob, bagsakan ng galit, kasalo sa saya at lungkot. 

Ilang beses ko na ba siyang iniwan?  Four times? Or limang beses na yata, yet he returns.  Ilang beses ko naba siyang nailaglag? Hindi ko na mabilang, ngunit nanatili siyang buo para sa akin kasi alam nya na kailangan ko siya.  Ngunit dumating ang panahon na hindi na kayang ibigay ni Eric ang iba kung pangangailangan.  These unfulfilled needs had driven me to find another at palitan sya.  Masakit man sa loob ko but I have to let go.  I have to move one and find something else na makapag-satisfy ng aking pangangailangan.  It hurts, but it is a must.  I’m very sorry but I have to let you go.  Hindi ko alam kung kayang pantayan ng ipinalit ko sa’yo ang loyalty at pagmamahal na ibinigay mo sa akin, I’m hoping na kasing tibay mo siya sa pagharap at pagtanggap ng hamon sa buhay. 

Kay mamang tricycle driver at kay manang sa carinderia maraming salamat sa pagbalik ninyo kay Eric sa akin noong mga panahong iniwan ko sya.  Sa mga estudyante at mga guro na nag-alaga kay Eric noong mga panahong siya’y aking nakaligtaan, salamat sa inyo.

To Eric, I know thank you is not enough to give justice to what have you done to me.  Thank you for the moment we shared, for the joys and the laughter.  It’s time to say goodbye, but I would never forget you.  You’re the best cellphone in the whole wide universe.  No cellphone has yet been invented to compete your homing capability, even the most expensive and the most advance phone.
